We went to a couple parks today. Alice wanted to spend most of the time perfecting her stepping skills. Now that she can walk she doesn't want to crawl up steps she wants to walk up them. She practiced stepping up and down from a landing on a log structure with the assistance of a railing. She figured it out pretty quick. It will be nice when she can play on these playground structures without my help. Alice is down to one nap a day now. She naps from 11:30 to 1:30. I think I will need to force her nap to be closer to the middle of the day. Going from 1:30 to 7 is borderline too long though it is nice to know that she is definitely ready for bed at 7 as am I.

15 months

I wish that I had been keeping a journal of some type since she was born but better late then never. This blog will be devoted to documenting her development and our day-to-day adventures. Today I am trying to get Alice to play by herself when we are at home. When we are out at play centers she has no problem taking off on her own. I have set up the gate to the kitchen and she is in the living room. If I ignore her briefly she will very quickly entertain herself. She is learning new words very rapidly. Here are a list of her words so far; no, yeah, okay, book, up, down, night-night, kitty, milk, nana (banana), juice (sounds like ju), toast, mama, dada. She is also picking up animal sounds. The consistant ones are cow, cat, lion and duck. Here is a picture taken at 15 months.
